Motion graphics video to show users what the new proposal software is all about.
It was time to retire Ghettrodesigns.com and bring a new name to the stage.
It’s nice when you get to join in on your clients’ events. Great food and entertainment, and you get to see your work in action – printed programs, lapel pins/badges and videos – all witnessed by big wig PM Tony Abbott.
Saw an interesting show on Tv the other day; Brain Games. Interesting things that out brains’ have evolved to do over the course of our existence.
One is facial recognition. Look at the picture, seems like a perfectly normal face, flip it around and see the reality. Our brain has developed a facial recognition ability as survival technique, so thus making everything appear fine in our minds. Cray cray!
Whether you think this is cool, uncool, trendy, unfashionable, whether you adhere to the life of a hipster or think you are far beyond the pettiness of such a label, it’s safe to say, the hipsters (or non-hipster hipsters) have taken over. Tim Delger has hit the nail on the head (not sure if it’s cool to say this anymore) and drawn up this Complete guide to designing the perfect Hipster logo. The infographic outlines all the elements required for the perfect Hipster logo in 6 easy steps, sarcastically yes, but he’s right! It seems like a lot of Sydney’s cafés, restaurants and bars have hired a designers who has used this guide – or maybe it was just the same designer. However, as a designer, when presenting concepts to a client, (even though the guide tells us “No concept necessary”) you should always provide one logo that uses these guidelines in my opinion. Whether you like it or not, it seems this style has become popular culture and we all need to embrace it… So we can all move on to the next thing (perhaps being more creative).
The courtyard area at the Red Bean Republic office needed some jazzing up; nothing a full day of painting couldn’t fix!
Might need to pull out google translate, but click here to see a blog post from Acbine from our shoot with the Sina.

Flying to Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia and Singapore with the intent of capturing 17 fashion designers to create profile videos to be used on the Inverted Edge website upon launching their new online fashion store. Me and Angela, the director, met and filmed these designers within their workspaces.
The trip was quite hectic, having up to 4 film shoots a day, setting up the lighting, dolly and microphones, followed by charging batteries and collating footage – then just add traveling between countries on top of that. But as is with most travel – it’s was awesome in the end and a great experience. The videos were all shot on a Canon 5D MarkIII, a great versatile camera for what we were doing. I’m not the most experienced videographer, but being a designer/video editor allows me to visualise the end product quite easily, so the whole process became quite natural.
